5th Grade Girls taking home 3rd place hardware…
HTX Hoops had the opportunity to play in the Prime Time Sports 2015 Summer Hoops Tour on June 5-7, 2015. There was pool play, interpool play, and bracket play for the tournament. The Legends Sports Complex (LSC), in The Woodlands, was an adequate space for our girls to display their talents over the weekend. The LSC had four full basketball courts for our girls to play on. Our HTX Fire girls pushed themselves to the max playing in divisions that were filled with talent from all across TX and surrounding States (MO, La, & etc.). HTX Fire 2023 went 2-3, HTX Fire 2022 captured 3rd place, HTX Fire 2021 went 3-2, HTX Fire 2020 captured 4th place, and our HTX Fire 2018 team went 3-4 for the tournament. These teams represented HTX Hoops for the Prime Time Tournament in a magnificent way.
HTX Fire 2023 Played in the 4th – 5th grade division in the tournament. Our 2023 girls played three back to back games that tested their stamina and skills on the first day of their arrival to the LSC. Fire 2023 put up 22 points against an 11u team from Louisiana. The game allowed the Fire 2023 team to play for 5th place in the tournament. Unfortunately, Fire 2023 could not play their final game. The team they have played several times before, opted to not play for the 5th place spot with their 4th-5th grade team they had to use. The girls played above expectation against the bigger teams throughout the tournament.
Our HTX Fire 2021 girls put on a display of bravery playing in a division that consist mostly of all 7th grade teams in the tournament at the LSC over the weekend. Fire 2021 played some VERY tough teams that challenged the girls to new heights. Fire 2021 went 3-2 even after playing in a pool with mostly 7th graders. Fire 2021 did not back down from the challenge at hand, keeping the pressure on each team they played and requiring the challengers to play their absolute best basketball despite the obstacles. Fire 2021 has been successful all year long.
HTX Fire 2018 is a new team that has been working hard all year. The team has a lot of 8th graders that play like high school girls; hence, the division they played in – High School division. Fire 2018 played remarkably in the tournament. They had a chance to play 7 games at the LSC. These girls never gave up. If they were down; they brought the score back into a winnable range. It was fun and exciting to watch these girls play in the tournament. These girls are doing exceedingly well being a fairly new team. They are a force to reckon with.
Our HTX Fire 2022 team seemed to come alive this tournament and came out with a piece of hardware. The Fire 2022 team played against some hard teams this weekend. Fire 2022 won all of the games they were supposed to win in the tournament. Fire 2022 made the final game for 3rd place in the 4th-5th grade division exciting and fun to watch. They went up quickly in the first half and got comfortable. All of a sudden; the Lady Blue team from Louisiana went on a run. Fire 2022 withstood the run of the LB and prevailed in the end to get the 3rd place trophy. We are proud of the Fire 2022 team for winning their first piece of hardware this season.

Only 5, but still playing hard…
HTX Fire 2020 put on a show for HTX Hoops in the LSC, for the Prime Time Sports Summer Tour 2015. Fire 2020 pushed themselves to the maximum level as well, playing in the High School division in the tournament. Fire 2020 did not waste time showing how much they have been putting in work in the gym practicing. They beat the first two teams with ease. Then a miracle happened for the other teams in the tournament – one of the girls was injured. Fortunately, our Fire 2022 player was alright and cleared to play. She did not play anymore during the tournament leaving the Fire 2022 team with only six players to continue playing. Already out sized, outnumbered, and younger in age; these girls displayed their talents and made an even better name for themselves playing for 4th place in the tournament. Fire 2022 played hard despite the injuries, fatigue, height, age, and every other obstacle at hand; the girls played together. Never give up. Play hard at all times. Stay focused no matter what, is what the Fire 2022 team showed for the tournament.
We are extremely proud of our HTX Fire girls for playing their hearts out. Each week the girls work hard and try to go above and beyond in practices. It really shows when it is game time for the girls. Prime Time Sports Summer Hoops Tour was a great way to display the things that our HTX Hoops Fire girls have been working on in practice as well as their daily individual training. We will continue to work hard with our girls and give them opportunities to develop their skills even more. We are extremely proud of our Fire 2022 team for playing hard and getting their first of many trophies to come. Thank you HTX Fire parents for making the long journey to The Woodlands, TX. We appreciate your dedication along with the efforts and dedication of the girls.
